If you haven't heard of Sap, it's a web-based SMS to cell service. It's almost as easy as a regular text message to anyone within a certain distance. You can send text messages from your computer, from your mobile phone or from your PDA to any other SNCP.
This is great for people who need to reach out to someone and have their mobile phone out of pocket. No need to pay extra for an expensive cell phone with unlimited talk minutes. Just log onto the Internet, and text them.
But what if you need to send a SSA (short for SMS text Service) to multiple numbers at once? Of course you can do this; you just need to make sure you get the right SSA provider.
As an example, if you are managing multiple websites or multiple email accounts, you may want to send an SMS to all of them instead of just one. Because SAs are so useful for business, many companies prefer them to just use their regular email. But, for personal use, having to constantly update all your email addresses and use your cell phone to send them to everyone is not always practical.
So, how do you know if you have the right SSA provider? You check the SNCP logos on their websites. Most providers have the logo of their logo displayed in the corner. Simply click on the logo and a list of companies will pop up, including SNCP providers.
With Sap, the first company listed is most likely the right one. However, if you're not sure which one is the right one, there is an option to send an SSA to a specific cell phone number. Simply select your cell phone from the list and then enter the number. The information will automatically be entered into the SNCP database.
When sending an SSA, Sap will add a special logo to the corner of your screen. This will identify it as an SSA and give you the opportunity to monitor your account and view any activity.
To access your list of SNCP providers, select your SNCP and select "SMS Account". Then simply log in to your account and select the option to update your list of SNCP providers. SNCP is a fairly simple concept. However, if you don't get the hang of it, or you have questions, you may want to look into SPA software.
If you have two phones, each with different SNCP, each may be sending you an SSA to every number you have with them. For this reason, SPA software is great for managing multiple accounts on a single device. That way, you will only be using one SSA and a single phone number.
So how do you set up your SPA and receive an SMS from any SNCP provider? First, open the SNCP window and select "SMSPredules". You will need to create a schedule so that all your SNCP providers will show up under "SMSPredules" on the left side of the window.
After selecting the schedule for your SPA, click on the SPA tab. You will be prompted to add the SMS provider in the list of SNCP providers, so just click "Add."
